An Idiot with a Hammer. Or, How I Learned Not to Rely on Cached data

I’ve spent a good deal of time this week un-doing performance improvements because they clash with acceptable practices at work. It’s brought this saying to mind: “To an idiot with a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” I was an idiot with a hammer.
